Coming soon: The WBP Forum with a new (virtual) format!

 In Articles, WBP Forum

The Women’s Brain Project (WBP) is counting down to its annual flagship event, the International Forum on Women’s Brain and Mental Health (the Forum). This year, it will take place virtually on Saturday and Sunday September 19-20. However, the format is different to your usual Zoom- or Hopin-powered event.

Expert insights at your fingertips, at your convenience

Part 1 of the Forum is a series of pre-recorded videos that will go live a week before the live event. This means that as of Monday 14 September, if you have registered for the event, you will get access to exclusive expert content.

This includes:

  • Keynote speeches by experts such as Carolee Lee, founder of WHAM!; Londa Schiebinger, the John L. Hinds Professor of History of Science at Stanford University, and Director of EU/US Gendered Innovations in Science, Health & Medicine, Engineering, and Environment; and George Vradenburg, the Chairman of UsAgainstAlzheimer’s (UsA2)
  • Panel presentations and an initial moderated conversation, to which you can react by sending us questions about the panel topic or questions directed to specific speakers
  • Additional short videos by WBP partners on brain health – including Fagun Thakrar, actress, film director, and activist and Forum Ambassador, and Tor Svensson, CFI.co Chairman and Columnist, among others.

You can view this content 24/7, at your leisure.

The WBP team will be collecting questions and comments, and integrating them into the second part of the Forum – when we go live!

  • Remarks by Mrs. Signe Ratso, European Commission Deputy Director General for Research and Innovation
  • Keynote by Eliot Sorel, MD, an innovative global health leader, educator, health systems performance expert, and a practicing physician.

The panel discussions will be live, and build on both the pre-recorded content and the questions you, our audience, will have sent in.

Following our theme of “Sex and Gender Differences in Brain and Mental Health Across the Lifespan”, the panels will include:
