Dr. Laura Castro-Aldrete earned her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. She also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the departments of Neurogeriatrics and Medicine at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. Additionally, she has served as a visiting lecturer at ITESM in Mexico. Dr. Castro-Aldrete has been a valued member of the Women’s Brain Foundation since 2020, contributing her expertise and experience to advancing the organization’s mission. Dr. Castro led our scientific team to produce the WBF‘s inaugural peer-reviewed publication, which succinctly summarized five years of invaluable research (Castro-Aldrete et al., 2023).  Currently, Dr. Castro-Aldrete is leading several mental and Brain Health-related projects at the WBF, working alongside other prominent experts in the field. Her ultimate objective is to create a detailed map of the contributing factors through a comprehensive study and solid evidence gathering.
