Laura Castro-Aldrete, PhD, is the Scientific and Medical Affairs Project Manager for the Women’s Brain Project. In her role, she leads the organization’s scientific activities. Dr. Castro-Aldrete earned her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. She also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the departments of Neurogeriatrics and Medicine at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. Additionally, she has served as a visiting lecturer at ITESM in Mexico. Dr. Castro-Aldrete has been a valued member of the Women’s Brain Project since 2020, contributing her expertise and experience to advancing the organization’s mission. Dr. Castro has led our scientific team to produce the WBP’s inaugural peer-reviewed publication, which succinctly summarized five years of invaluable research (Castro-Aldrete et al., 2023).  Currently, Dr. Castro-Aldrete is leading several mental and Brain Health-related projects at the WBP, working alongside other prominent experts in the field. Her ultimate objective is to create a detailed map of the contributing factors through a comprehensive study and solid evidence gathering.
