World Multiple Sclerosis Day
05 June, 2025
World Multiple Sclerosis Day was observed on May 30. It’s a day in the year dedicated to raising awareness about Multiple Sclerosis (MS) a chronic neurological condition that affects the nervous system disrupting communication between the brain and the rest of the body. It disproportionately impacts women, with studies showing that women are two to three times more likely to develop MS than men. Despite advancements in research, early diagnosis remains a challenge, delaying access to critical treatments that can slow progression.
At the Women’s Brain Foundation, we believe in empowering women with knowledge and support. MS symptoms—such as fatigue, mobility issues, and cognitive impairment—can vary widely, making awareness essential for timely intervention. While there is no cure yet, therapies and lifestyle adjustments can help individuals manage their condition effectively.
Earlier this year, we published an article in the Journal of Neurology – “Cost effectiveness of different treatment strategies with natalizumab for pregnant women with Multiple Sclerosis”.
