The Women’s Brain Foundation publication makes it to the cover of Nature Reviews Bioengineering

23 February 2026

We are proud to share that our work has been featured on the cover of Nature Reviews Bioengineering.

This recognition highlights a central message of our research:
Sex as a biological variable remains insufficiently integrated into neuroscience research — despite its major influence on disease mechanisms, therapeutic response, and translational outcomes.

Advancing neurological precision medicine requires:
• Systematic integration of sex differences in in vitro models
• Inclusion of sex-informed design in in vivo research
• Development of more accurate and reproducible translational tools

Precision medicine cannot be truly precise if biological sex is overlooked.

We sincerely thank the editorial and graphic teams, our collaborators, and our exceptional research team for their commitment and scientific rigor.

Under existing frameworks in Switzerland and Europe, our independent research structure is not yet eligible for direct access to public funding streams.

This creates a paradox:
High scientific impact — limited access to national funding mechanisms.
To continue advancing sex- and gender-informed neuroscience, we are actively seeking:
• Strategic institutional partnerships
• Philanthropic support
• Private and foundation-based collaborations

If your organisation believes in advancing rigorous, inclusive, and translational neuroscience, we invite you to connect with us.

Scientific progress depends not only on ideas — but on the structures that enable them. Independently.
