Serena Bonaretti is enthusiastic about bringing her knowledge and expertise to the Women’s Brain Foundation.
She has over 15 years of experience in the acquisition and analysis of medical images of the musculoskeletal system, with the ultimate goal of improving the diagnosis and treatment of aging diseases such as osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. She is the co-founder and coordinator of the Open and Reproducible Musculoskeletal Imaging Research (ORMIR) community (www.ormir.org), including about 70 researchers from academia and industry dedicated to developing open and reproducible computational tools for imaging data analysis.
Serena is also a passionate educator with teaching experience in university courses, workshops, and one-to-one online sessions. She is the author of the textbook “Learn Python with Jupyter: Develop computational thinking while learning to code”, whose electronic version is available for free (www.learnpythonwithjupyter.com).
She received academic training at Stanford University, the University of California San Francisco, the University of Bern, and Politecnico di Milano.
