Dr. Roberta Marongiu holds BSc and MSc in human genetics, and a PhD in medical genetics and neuroscience. Dr. Marongiu is currently one the leading experts in the research on the role that biological sex differences and reproductive hormones play in the development of neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Marongiu is also co-founder of the non-profit organization stoPD (Support and Training to Overcome Parkinson’s disease; www.stop-pd.org), devoted to bettering the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s disease and their families.
